i am always looking for albums that blur the line between classical and jazz; this one nails it. leo smith is a master of the craft, all of his albums are a pleasure to listen to. gaiusfolk

I really appreciate that with such a large group of musicians the overall sound and experience of listening is really spacious, never cluttered. The lovely recording helps that a lot, and of course the compositional aspects that make it breathe are superb- it gets more and more fun as I listen again and again. Jasper Skydecker

Hard to pick the best track as this is an absolutely magnificent release. Funkiest Jazz Versions of Curtis Mayfield ever and all live too. Features the legendary Leena Conquest on vocals. Which begs the question; Why are there not more recordings by this superb vocalist? Just listen to "If There's A Hell Down Below" it's intense!! Paul Murphy
