Three experienced saxophonists, three musicians – whom over the years have contributed to the European jazz history with their projects – together on stage and in a recording studio. Urs Leimgruber, one of the founders of the free-electric band OM, Hans Koch from the Hardcore-Chambermusic-Trio Koch-Schütz-Studer and Omri Ziegele, one of the driving forces of the Zurich jazz scene and head of the ensemble Billiger Bauer. Three innovators, three improvisors, three players, three sound painters.
After their first concerts the Swiss Holz Trio went into a studio to record the Love Letters to the President. Omri Ziegele says in his liner notes: “The fact that it works – that we three, so different our creation of the vibrating air may be, come together in a strain that sprawls and conveys – this fact is ultimately the secret that points to depths that know no names.
